Jewel of Sana’a Cafe

Downtown in the heart of Oakland, California Sits a Middle Eastern Cafe known Called Sana’a Cafe. Embroidered on the interior with gold handlebars, murals depicting the exquisite architecture steeped over coffee field giving you a sense of imagery of the foundation in which coffee may have origins from, in the heart of Yemen. I found the furniture to be well placed , located near the rear of the cafe is a nice sofa with golden rim handlebars and Moroccan inspired patterns on the cushioning. Marble tables with near outlets allow a comfortable and artistry display for daily leisure and work. Near the windows single demographics can can have a outlook of the exterior of the cafe with a nice wooden tile counter. I found the service to be exquisite and really rich for anyone looking for an engaging and authentic experience with this rich heritage.

On to the menu was a assortment of Eastern inspired drinks and a variety of pastries and breads to select from. I Selected the Turkish Coffee and Pistachio Baklava. As someone who has not been to a near eastern cafe I wasn’t sure what to anticipate but to my surprise and most definite liking the vessels in which the Turkish coffee arrived in were absolutely gorgeous. Catered with an addition pouring vessel for extra serving the display was lovely. The flavor profile of this coffee was impactful with elements of saffron, cardamon, and essence of tart, I quite enjoyed this lovely served beverage accompanied with one of the most delectable pastries and staples, baklava. From local or traveler abroad looking to find jewels in the heart of Oakland, I highly give Sana’a Cafe a Try.
