Hey everyone, Welcome to my blog where I introduce new culinary techniques, baking inspiration & food reviews. Today, I want to share a delicious recipe for Herbed Asparagus. Join me along my journey to dazzle your guest with a great way of preparing Asparagus!
For today’s recipe, it is all about time management and technique! How the product turns out depends on how long it is cooked in the oven. It also depends on the grilling or griddling technique used. This helps perfect the taste of delicious herbed asparagus.
Ingredients-
Asparagus– Main Ingredient- our asparagus will be cooked in the oven for 10 minutes at 350. This par-cooks it so it can turn al dente, “to crisp.” Then it will be placed on the griddle. This step gives it the scorched flavor we want in our Herbed Asparagus! We also have to trim the stem as it a more preferable bite.
Cherry Tomatoes- Tossed in garlic oil and parsley. They add dimension and a pop of color to the Herbed Asparagus dish.
Parsley– is minced and tossed with the cherry tomatoes. This gives that herbal sensation to the platter. It is especially delightful when paired with Herbed Asparagus.
Garlic– used to make a strong garlic note. Placed in the oven with oil and then minced after it cools, it complements the herbed asparagus perfectly.
Parmesan- garnished as a savor note to bring the dish together.
Olive Oil– used to drizzle the asparagus before placing it in the oven. It makes your herbed asparagus so flavorful.
Seasonings-
Garlic powder
Italian
Pepper
Red Pepper Flakes
Salt
Keys to success
-When slicing your tomatoes, it is easier to slice along the stem as there is more traction.
-Make sure the asparagus is fully coated in the oil to prevent irregular cooking to achieve delightful herbed asparagus!
-When sauteing the garlic, make sure to place it after the tomatoes. The cooking process for garlic is shorter, so it may burn.
-Make sure when the asparagus is in the oven that it is distributed evenly on the tray. Make sure they are not on top of one another, as this can lead to improper cooking.
