Little Italy In The Bay

Foodie Treasures in Little Italy

During my tour around San Francisco, I was allured by the splendor and grandeur of Roman Catholic Churches. These churches are parallel to European architecture in design. I also admired the cobblestone walkways, old cafes, and pasta shops. This area is where Italian migration was prominent. I often relegate of having the chance at some point to visit Europe. but as for now for many Americans this is inclined towards our budget and locality of life.

Greco Cafe

My Walk across North Beach, I found a Greco Roman Cafe. It featured many delectable cakes. There were also various pastries to choose from.

I was craving a chocolaty treat to raise my endorphin levels haha. So I opted in for Cake Braziliana, with a traditional Latte. The Brazilian is a chocolate Cake soaked in espresso liqueur and has a cream filling. Oh, and oh my it’s delicious. it reminded my of a Traditional Tres Leches in its consistency. Although more complexity added with additional layers and a chocolate curled crust.

I enjoyed the setting in little Italy. Especially at Greco Roman Cafe. Classical Italian music filled the air. The interior design transported me to Rome with its multiple rooms for dining and chatting. The most authenticity I gained from a place was when I sneezed haha . An Italian nona blessed me in her language. I felt very welcomed and recommended anyone stopping along north beach, Little Italy to give this place a try.

The Stinking Rose

The Stinking Rose is another Restaurant located in north beach that features many ubiquitous pasta, canapes, pizzas, and Paninis. Popular Staples. The Place offers outdoor dining with vintage tables. The tables are decorated with colorful fruitful pasting as the wallpaper. The streets were black and white checkered tiles which took me back to the 50s. You can sit out and enjoy the lovely bay breeze. The booths indoors were burgundy in color and the walls were filled with murals of art and Italian Victorian design. O.M.G I got the fettuccine Garlic marinara with added topping of sausages and it was to die for! The pasta is completely handmade here I can tell from its freshness and moisture. I had a Watermelon Margarita on the side and was in a pleasant mood after that. Pasta and drinks make me happy and make me sleep.

Definitely give North beach a visit. So much to see and so many positive interactions with locals you can have along the way. Welcome to bay!
